Real Betis beat CE Sabadell 2-0 on matchday 22 of the Liga Adelante, a victory that sees Pepe Mel’s men move level with top-of-the-table UD Las Palmas on 43 points. The Catalan outfit, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone after three matchdays without a win.
The verdiblancos had the game sewn up in the first half courtesy of the goals scored by Dani Ceballos and Jorge Molina. Mel’s charges came flying out of the blocks against a Sabadell side lacking the strength to compete with their opponents. In the 8th minute, Rubén Castro produced a fine piece of play, advancing into the box and holding the ball up before providing the killer pass for Ceballos to open the scoring at the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Betis continued to dominate, and Molina’s goal arrived with half an hour on the clock as he finished with his chest from Francisco Molinero’s ball. It was another heavy blow for Sabadell, who also had to deal with the sending-off of goalkeeper Nauzet Pérez before the break. After the restart the visitors proved unable to produce a reaction, while Betis remained hungry for more and looked for a third. In the end there was no change to the scoreline and a 2-0 triumph saw the Andalusians seal their third win in a row.
