The South American champions, River Plate, had a tougher semi-final then their opponents scraping a 1-0 win over Japanese champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima. They are seeking a first ever Club World Cup win. River Plate defender Leonel Vangioni said: "Only if we play the way we did in the decisive games will we be able to compete in the game. If we stay united we have a chance to win."
