Sevilla FC won 2-0 against Málaga CF on matchday 19 of Liga BBVA. The victory leaves Unai Emery's team in fourth place with 39 points, with the first half of the season drawing to a close. Defeat for Javi Gracia's team puts the brakes on their rise towards the European spots.
Sevilla's great intensity blocked out the visitors despite the best efforts of Duda and Samu Castillejo to put their team ahead in the first half. The fact is that Carlos Bacca, who was the real star of the night, complicated things for the rival team and their goalkeeper Carlos Kameni. He had two clear opportunities before the excellent move leading to the first goal. The move was started by Gerard Deulofeu, following great work, he crossed to Bacca who scored with pleasure.
The Sevillian squad sealed the game in the second half with another great goal scored by Denis Suárez, after good link-up play with his team mate Bacca. It was the Colombian who had a chance to score a third but an attentive Kameni prevented the scoreboard from going any higher. In the end, Seville earned their twelfth victory of the season, proving that the Andalucian side is enjoying a run of good form in the Liga BBVA.
