The town of Elche in Alicante plays host to the 12th National Congress of the Association of Spanish Football Supporters this weekend with more than 1000 attendees, members of Aficiones Unidas (Fans United) and representatives of other official bodies from Spanish football.
In the opening ceremony, which took place on Saturday morning in the Conference Centre in Elche, the director of Security and Integrity of la Liga, Alfredo Lorenzo, spoke about the main aspects of the “Regulation of the Sale of Tickets”. Antoni Mateu Lahoz and David Medié also received Golden Whistles, awarded to the best referees in the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante respectively.
The Mayor of Elche, Carlos González; Sports Councillor Cristina Martínez; the President of Fans United, José M. Braña and the spokesperson of the supporters club of Elche CF, Carlos San José also attended the meeting.
The program of events of the 12th Congress of the Supporters Associations will include a visit to Elche CF’s Martínez Valero stadium, the 1st National Supporter’s Association Congress Table Football Championship and a giant paella for 500 diners as the grand finale.
The National Congress of Supporters Clubs, which will end this Sunday has set out as the objective for this event the analysis of current issues facing professional football in this country. Aficiones Unidas also announced that the 13th Supporters’ Clubs Congress would take place in Zaragoza in 2016.
