How LaLiga will be 2015/16

Leagues BBVA and Adelante will begin at the weekend of the 23rd August and will finish on 22nd May and 5th June, respectively.

LaLiga returns, and with it: the best football in the world. The calendar dates are already known for the year 2015/16 The start of the Liga BBVA season is scheduled for August 23rd, while top-flight football will reach its climax on 22nd May. In addition, four matches of this campaign will be played mid-week:

Week 5 (23rd September)
Week 26 (2nd March)
Week 34 (20th April)

Similarly, there will be a break for international matches. The qualifiers for UEFA EURO 2016 of the Spanish national team against Slovakia and Macedonia will be played on 5th and 8th September, respectively. On 9th and 12th October, matches against Luxembourg and The Ukraine will be played.

In the event that the Spanish national team continue to the playoffs, the period between 12th and 17th November would be available to participate. If things don’t go this way, those days can be used to play in friendly matches. Already in 2016, 29th March will be left open with the possibility of playing a warm-up match. Football in LaLiga will also have its chance to rest during the Christmas period. This will take place from 20th December until 3rd January.

The team, which participates in the FIFA Club World Cup, Japan, this season, will be FC Barcelona, looking to crown themselves as the best team in the world, from 10th to 20th December.

Liga Adelante, meanwhile, will start on the weekend of 23rd August and will conclude on 5th June (regular season). After competing in the 42 match days of the championship, play-offs will be played in the fight for promotion to Liga BBVA, which will run its course on 19th June.
