Victory is the goal for Málaga CF and Granada CF on matchday 7 of the Liga BBVA when the sides square off in La Rosaleda. Neither side is enjoying its best spell, therefore finding a spark in this weekend’s competition is essential for both. Three draws and two defeats in are all Málaga have to show for their last five encounters, while the visitors are looking to pick themselves up from a 6-0 rout in the Camp Nou.
Team news
Vitorino Antunes, Juanpi Añor and Samu Castillejo are back in the squad for Málaga. However, Brazilian centre-back Weligton will miss the clash as he serves a one-match suspension. For their part, the big news in Joaquín Caparrós’ side is the return of midfielder Rubén Rochina, who missed their last few matches through injury.
Views from the dugout
Rochina, on loan to Granada this season, spoke to the press before travelling to Málaga to take on Javi Gracia’s men: "We have to go out with attitude and intensity". Meanwhile, the home coach stated that his team are looking to get back to winning ways against their local rivals: "The team needs a good result in order to gain conviction, credibility and a position more in line with what we deserve".
