UD Las Palmas – R. Valladolid CF (12pm, Estadio de Gran Canaria)
With just one point separating them, Las Palmas and Valladolid will not be easing off in their respective hunts for automatic promotion to the Liga BBVA. The Canary Islanders’ boss, Paco Herrera, referred to the upcoming opponents as one of the "favourites" for promotion, and also praised the Castile and León side’s play. Meanwhile, Joan Francesc Ferrer 'Rubi', the Valladolid coach, emphasised the importance of this fixture: "This is a crucial match in the fight for second place in the division. I’m not sure if it will be decisive for finishing second but it’s definitely very important as a win against Las Palmas would mean beating a direct rival".
CE Sabadell – R. Racing C. (4pm, Estadio Nova Creu Alta)
A clash between the division’s 18th and 19th placed sides. The Cantabrians climbed out of the relegation zone last weekend with a victory over CD Lugo. Juan Carlos Mandiá, who will be forced to watch the game from the stands after picking up a suspension, assessed Racing’s playing style: "They are well organised, united and put a lot of pressure on opposition teams. Their forward men put in an enormous amount of work and are very effective on the break". The Sabadell manager also spoke about how he would like his players to approach this encounter: "We have to bring the game to them from the word go".
The day’s action will kick off with a clash between promotion hopefuls Las Palmas and Valladolid
UE Llagostera – R. Sporting (4:30pm, Nou Municipal de Palamós)
One of the most in form sides during the second half of the season plays host to a prime candidate for automatic promotion. Since losing to CD Leganés on 31 January, the Catalans have gone eleven matchdays undefeated. Sporting are also enjoying a good run of form that has seen them climb to second in the table with 62 points. Abelardo Fernández, the Asturians’ manager, assessed the upcoming opponents and their current form: "They keep things simple; no one has gifted them anything".
RC Recreativo – Girona FC (6pm, Estadio Nuevo Colombino)
A meeting between two teams experiencing very different fortunes this year. The Huelva side are fighting to stay up, while the Catalans are contenders for promotion. Both managers assessed the upcoming fixture. José Domínguez stated that his players are "ready" and will need to be "fully focused" for this game. Meanwhile, Pablo Machín, the Girona coach, spoke about his side’s objective: "We want to win to keep our objective alive. It will be a difficult task but we have set ourselves the goal of finishing first or second".
Girona and Sporting will be looking to make the most of the encounter between Las Palmas and Valladolid to make up ground in the table
R Zaragoza – CD Numancia (6:15pm, La Romareda)
The Aragon team will be looking to turn their fortunes around, after having picked up one defeat and three draws from their last four games, and thereby keep challenging for the last play-off place. "There are three very important points up for grabs, which would give us a lift following the bad spell we have been going through lately. I think the players will be able to do the job", was what Ranko Popović had to say in the run up to the encounter.
CD Leganés – CD Mirandés (9pm, Municipal de Butarque)
The Liga Adelante matchday 35 action ends with a clash between to mid-table teams. Leganés are tenth while Mirandés lie in fourteenth. The objective for both sides, who are separated by three points, is to stay in the race for sixth place. Leganés boss Asier Garitano will be without the suspended Sergio Portigo for this game. Carlos Terrazas expects a tough encounter: "They are a very strong, consistent side and are very hard to break down".
