A place in the play-offs and survival are up for grabs on Tuesday

With matchday 38 in the Liga Adelante barely over, matchday 39 kicks off on Tuesday with two matches set to be jam-packed with excitement. A place in the play-offs and survival will be up for grabs when FC Barcelona B host R. Valladolid CF and AT. Osasuna take on UD Las Palmas.

FC Barcelona B - R. Valladolid CF (21:00 CET, La Liga TV) 

Jordi Vinyals’ side have the wind in their sails after beating CD Mirandés 3-2 last weekend and now they will be hoping to surprise Valladolid, who are looking towards promotion, be it automatically or via the play-offs. The blanquivioletas travel to Barcelona on the back of an impressive run of six matches without defeat, which has taken them up to fourth spot.
Alejandro Grimaldo, the Barcelona full-back, is the only doubt for Vinyals for this game, as he was forced off injured against Mirandés. Francesc Rubí’s team meanwhile will have to make do without Omar and Álvaro Rubio, but Jeffren Suárez, Jesús Rueda and Timor all return.

At. Osasuna - UD Las Palmas (22:00 CET, La Liga TV)

While there is sure to be plenty of excitement at the Miniestadi, Osasuna’s fans should also brace themselves for what is set to be an enthralling 90 minutes as their side take on Las Palmas. The Navarrans are on 40 points and are 18th in the league table so they need to win in order to put daylight between themselves and the bottom three. However, the team coached by Paco Herrera will be looking to put pressure on Girona FC in second spot — they currently sit six points behind the Catalan outfit, on 66 points.

“At home we need to be bold and unshaken,” said Osasuna coach Enrique Martín ahead of the game. Liassine Cadamuro, Alejandro Berenguer, Jordan Lotiès and Mikel Merino all miss out for the Navarrans with injury. However, only goalkeeper Casto Espinosa will miss the match for the Canary Islanders, as the custodian sustained a muscle injury that will keep him out of action for four weeks. “Automatic promotion is still possible,” insisted coach Paco Herrera, who also heaped praise on his side’s opponents.
