Cristiano Ronaldo achieved another epic achievement against Granada CF.The Portuguese forward who plays forReal Madrid scored five goals in a single game goles, for the first time in his career, making a decisive contribution to the 9-1 thrashing of Granada. As such, the Portuguese star became the only footballer currently still in action who has achieved this epic figure.
Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score five goals for the first time, putting him top of the list of the leading goalscorers in the Liga BBVA with 36 goals, 4 more than second placed Leo Messi of FC Barcelona. The Portuguese player had come very close to achieving the feat on three previous occasions, when he scored four goals. He achieved that against R. Racing C. at home in 2010, against Sevilla FC away in 2011 and this season at the Santiago Bernabéu against Elche CF. Furthermore, he had already scored 23 hat-tricks and 58 braces in the Liga BBVA.
The Portuguese forward became the seventh Real Madrid player to score five goals in a single game, following in the footsteps of Manuel Alday, Rafael Alsúa, Miguel Muñoz, Pepillo, Ferenc Puskás and Fernando Morientes. By doing so he reached 300 goals in official games with Real Madrid and only Alfredo Di Stéfano (307) and Raúl González (323) are ahead of him. Additionally, in the table of all-time leading scorers in the Liga BBVA, he is eighth with 213, having overtaken the former RC Celta and Real Madrid player Pahíño, who finished up with 210 goals.
Matchday 29 in the Liga BBVA provided another personal best for Cristiano Ronaldo, scoring three goals in such a short period of time. The Portuguese player scored three goals in just eight minutes between the 29’ minute and the 37’ minute. His previous record came in 2011 at La Rosaleda against Málaga CF, when he scored a hat trick in 14 minutes. It is also the quickest hat trick in Real Madrid’s history, beating the 13 minutes it took Fernando Hierro to score three in 1992 against RCD Espanyol.
