Real Betis won 4-0 against R. Valladolid CF on matchday 28 of the Liga Adelante. Pepe Mel’s men had a sensational game that puts momentarily leaves them first in the table, as they wait to see the results UD Las Palmas, Girona FC and R. Sporting.
With a full capacity Benito Villamarín stadium, the Andalusian side was superior for the entire game and gave few options to a Valladolid side who lost the game to one of their direct rivals. Rubén Castro troubled the visitors defence within the first few minute, but it was Jorge Molina with a powerful shot who beat Javi Varas to leave the score at 1-0 before the break.
Valladolid were affected by it and could not find a way to respond as Betis managed to continue the run in the second half and kill off the game. Rubén Castro, the leading Betis goalscorer, got the second of the game, his 100th at the club. Indeed, the forward from the Canary Islands had one of the best performances of the season as he managed to score another two goals, one from a penalty, in the final stretch of the game.
