Campus LaLiga 2016 concluded on Sunday 10 July after a week in which a group of boys and girls from Spain, Mexico, China and El Salvador between 8 and 13 years of age had the opportunity to learn, train and play, combining sport with educational and formative workshops.
Following the sporting action, the participants combined entertainment and leisure activities with tactical theory classes and educational workshops, such as the Future Fans Workshop, which promotes sportsmanship, respect and empathy with opponents among youngsters, and the Refereeing – Clean Play Workshop, in which the kids found out about refereeing techniques from international referee Iñaki Vicandi Garrido.
The attendees not only perfected their football techniques. They also enjoyed activities and games, such as visiting the FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol stadiums and taking part in the 10th instalment of the Future Fans campaign.
The objective of Campus LaLiga, an initiative which includes the collaboration of the National Association of Football Coaches (ANEF), is to promote values vital to the development of children, incentivising coexistence, respect for teammates, and teamwork using football as an educational tool for their advancement.
