RC Celta extend coach Claudio Giráldez’s contract until 2027

RC Celta have reiterated their commitment to coach Claudio Giráldez, extending his deal until 2027. The club announced the news this week following the side’s strong start to the season which built on a competitive run of three wins in their last four matches of the 2023/24 season. RC Celta’s board, buoyed by his performance in the dugout, have taken the decision to give Giráldez’s more long-term stability. 

36-year-old Giráldez is a home-grown coach, having come through the Galician club's ranks from the youth teams all the way up to the first team. First taking over youth teams in 2016, he progressed to Celta C in 2019 and then the club’s reserve side in 2022. Last season, with the club fighting against the drop, he made the jump to the first team with great success. And now, having carried that momentum into the new season, RC Celta have decided that he’s the man to continue taking them forward in the long-term.
