Jose Angel Ziganda takes the reins at Athletic Club

Athletic Club have announced that Jose Angel Ziganda, a former player with more than 250 league appearances for the club, will be their coach for the next two seasons following the departure of Ernesto Valverde.

The 50-year-old Navarran has coached the B team Bilbao Athletic for the last six years, and guided them to promotion to Liga 1l2l3 in 2014/15. Ziganda has previous experience in LaLiga Santander having coached CA Osasuna between 2006 and 2008, and newly-promoted Xerez CD in the 2009/10 campaign.
