The new season of LALIGA EA SPORTS is up and running and, as is the case every year, several new players have arrived and added extra quality to Spanish football’s top tier. This season promises to be special, given that some of the best players in the world have landed in Spain, while several other quality players are playing across the championship. From the very first matchday, many debutants already made an impact for their new clubs.

One of the most high-profile signings already found the back of the net in the first matchday, as Alexander Sørloth turned in the decisive equaliser for Atlético de Madrid away at Villarreal CF, the club he had just left. In the final minutes of that 2-2 draw, Julián Álvarez, one of the new stars of LALIGA EA SPORTS, entered the fray and enjoyed his first minutes in red and white, beginning to adapt to Diego Simeone’s plan. In the same match, Nicolas Pépé made his debut in LALIGA EA SPORTS for Villarreal CF, showing flashes of quality that encouraged the crowd at the Estadio de La Cerámica.

Bryan Zaragoza also made his debut for his new club this weekend, coming on in the second half of CA Osasuna’s match against CD Leganés, changing the flow of the game as his team earned a point. The Andalusian, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, was electrifying on the wing, driving his team forward and giving CD Leganés headaches on their return to LALIGA EA SPORTS.

Perhaps the most eagerly anticipated debut in LALIGA EA SPORTS was that of Kylian Mbappé, one of the best players in the world. The Frenchman made his LALIGA debut at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix against RCD Mallorca and produced a great first half, showcasing his quality and offering glimpses of what he could achieve this season. That said, the final score was 1-1 and it was made clear to the Frenchman that every LALIGA fixture has its challenges.

In the same match, Japanese player Takuma Asano was a starter for the home side and had a very good game as RCD Mallorca earned a valuable draw against Los Blancos. He moved very well up top, combining with teammates, touching the ball well and demonstrating the quality he possesses. He could be very important for Jagoba Arrasate’s team in LALIGA EA SPORTS thjs campaign.

The debutant whose profile grew the most in Matchday 1 was surely Christantus Uche of Getafe CF, who helped his team earn a 1-1 draw against Athletic Club at San Mamés. Although he isn’t a forward, he was able to move into attack for the capital city side and scored their goal, which was one of the most incredible storylines of a thrilling opening matchday.
