LALIGA legend and champion of grassroots initiatives Frédéric Kanouté attended the site launch to support the project, along with a host of local and national media.

The LALIGA x Bloomsbury Football project, launched in 2022, sees LALIGA and its clubs, together with FUNDACIÓN LALIGA, continue to support the pioneering work of Bloomsbury Football, who currently engage with over 5,000 young people in London each week.

The new site will play host to teams supported by Atlético de Madrid, Athletic Club, Deportivo Alavés, Racing Club de Ferrol, RC Celta, RC Deportivo, UD Las Palmas, and Valencia CF. Meanwhile, those backed by CA Osasuna, CD Leganes, CD Tenerife, Granada CF, RCD Espanyol, Real Racing Club, SD Eibar and Sevilla FC will continue to be based at the original site of the project in Acland Burghley in North London.

During the launch event, Frédéric Kanouté, Keegan Pierce (Director of International Relations at LALIGA), and Charlie Hyman (Founder of Bloomsbury Football) spoke with a range of media at the event to showcase the growing partnership and the organisations’ ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots football in the UK. Frédéric spoke in particular about the financial barriers in football, the role LALIGA clubs play in the partnership, and the importance of promoting the positive values of football in local communities and leveraging sport as a tool for social inclusion.

This season is the most expansive yet and in addition to a new facility, a record 16 LALIGA clubs are participating in the project, as well as CVC through the CVC Foundation.
