The delegation from the Vietnam Football Federation, led by Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan, spent 5 days working in Madrid. During this time, Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan met with President of LALIGA, Mr. Javier Tebas. Both parties exchanged views on potential cooperation opportunities in the future.
The Vietnamese delegation participated in learning about various activities and projects that LALIGA is undertaking, as well as engaging in constructive discussions on ideas and practices in the field of football, such as expanding international relations through the LALIGA ACADEMY for youth football development, women's football, LALIGA tournament organization, or understanding the development of tournaments by sports technology company Sportian. In the future, both parties will plan to bring the Vietnamese men's and women's national teams for training and friendly matches in Spain.
The delegation also visited various LALIGA clubs such as Getafe CF and Atletico Madrid, understanding the organizational structure and operation of the clubs, visiting the ESC LALIGA & NBA Center, and attending the LALIGA EA SPORTS match between Atletico Madrid and Girona FC. This visit marks an important milestone within the framework of the cooperation agreement between the two sides until June 2026.
Previously, to initiate the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Vietnam Football Federation and LALIGA organized a youth football knowledge update course in January 2024 in Hanoi, where LALIGA ACADEMY experts taught 41 Vietnamese coaches from various youth football clubs/training centers across the country.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims for both parties to collaborate and exchange expertise to develop professional football and youth football in Vietnam, as well as national teams, while also developing other sports training projects.
During the working visit to Madrid, facilitated by LALIGA, the Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation and the delegation also met and greeted Mr. Fernando Molinero, Director General of the Spanish Supreme Sports Council, and visited elite sports training facilities in Spain, where athletes are intensively training and preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympics.
