The agreement between Deportivo Alavés and Aurrera was executed through the Fundación 5+11, the Liga Adelante club's institution for fostering and developing grass-roots football. This agreement forms part of the side's idea to come to an agreement with all the clubs in the area. The club hopes to unite Álava's more than 6,500 members of the football association.
The goal of this agreement will be to share the job of developing young players at both clubs. They will work together with one technical secretary, one network of scouts and joint technical work. Thus, the 500 young players linked to Aurrera are incorporated into the structure of clubs with agreements with Deportivo Alavés, while the blue and whites will now be supervising the training of 4,000 players, more than 60% of the total.
In economic terms, the club from Alava committed to assuming any potential deficit which may arise in the first years of operation of the agreement. The entity will therefore be looking for positive figures, which will help to mitigate the club's previous debts in the medium term.
The president of Aurrera de Vitoria, Fernando Urcelay, was satisfied with the agreement: “I would like to appeal to all the clubs who have yet to sign an agreement to join us so that we can all work together to the benefit of football in Vitoria and Alava”. For his part, Fernández de Quincoces, President of Alavés, highlighted the importance of Fundación 5+11 as the instigator and congratulated the team from Vitoria.
