Levante UD, who are bottom of the table of 16 points, host Athletic Club at their stadium. Athletic have four more points than Levante, and are enjoying a good spell having qualified for the Copa del Rey semi-finals. Three points for either team would mean a return to winning ways and moving away from the danger zone in the table.

The squads

Levante made three signings during the winter transfer market: Ivan Ramis, José Mari Martín-Bejarano and Kalu Uche. The Bilbao side is Guillermo Fernández due to injury and he is not in Ernesto Valverde’s squad.

The thoughts of the coaches

The two coaches see this as a vital match; According to Lucas Alcaraz: "It will be important to get a win, the group is convinced that it can be done, despite the fact that it will be difficult. However, Athletic cannot be careless in La Liga and they will place the same significance on the game as us".

Valverde talked in similar terms about the game: "We are risking everything, points are beginning to mean more. The difference if we win would be huge and this is an opportunity for us to distance ourselves and get some breathing space".
