The 2024/25 LALIGA EA SPORTS campaign was one of the most exciting in recent years, filled with dramatic highs and lows across the teams. Many matches delivered unforgettable moments for fans, proving that the true beauty of football lies not only in victory but in the passion, tension, and joy of the game itself. Here are five of the most memorable matches:

FC Barcelona 4-3 RC Celta

Played at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium on Matchday 32, RC Celta delivered a stunning performance and went up 1-3 thanks to a hat-trick by Borja Iglesias, in what was arguably one of the best games of his career.

However, standing in their way was none other than the 2024/25 LALIGA champions, FC Barcelona. In the final half-hour, the Catalans mounted a remarkable comeback, culminating in a stoppage-time winner by Raphinha to seal three crucial points that all but confirmed their title. A rollercoaster of a match with everything: drama, comebacks, and brilliance.

Atlético de Madrid 4-3 Sevilla FC

This Matchday 16 fixture was absolute madness. Both teams had dominant spells, but it was the home side’s individual quality that eventually triumphed. Rodrigo De Paul opened the scoring, and it seemed Atleti would cruise to victory.

Instead, Sevilla stormed back to lead 1-3 with a brilliant display. But Simeone’s side never gave up. Two goals from Griezmann and a spectacular strike from Samuel Lino flipped the match on its head, handing all three points to the Madrid side and heartbreak to Sevilla. A true thriller etched in fans’ memories.

Villarreal CF 4-3 RC Celta

Already by Matchday 3, fans were treated to a wild showdown. With end-to-end action, seven goals, and both goalkeepers shining—especially Diego Conde for Villarreal—this match was pure entertainment.

Despite RC Celta having more chances and longer spells of dominance, Villarreal’s attacking precision was decisive. The match was ultimately settled in the 97th minute by a goal from Dani Parejo, sealing a 4-3 win for the Yellow Submarine.

Valencia CF 1-2 Real Madrid and Real Madrid 1-2 Valencia CF

These clashes are always special due to the intense rivalry, and this season both fixtures delivered. In the first leg at Mestalla, Real Madrid came from behind with 10 men after Vini Jr.’s red card. Luka Modric and Jude Bellingham turned the tide in stoppage time for a 1-2 win.

In the return leg, Valencia pulled off a stunning victory at the Santiago Bernabéu, their first there in nearly 18 years. A masterful counterattack finished by Hugo Duro gave Los Che a 1-2 win—mirroring the first leg’s scoreline but with the roles reversed. That result proved crucial in paving the way for FC Barcelona’s title win.

FC Barcelona 4-3 Real Madrid

The ELCLÁSICO that decided the league title. Played on Matchday 34, it was a clash that could all but seal the championship for Barcelona—which it did, after their subsequent win in the BARCELONA DERBY against RCD Espanyol.

The game started with a shock as Real Madrid went 0-2 up, but Hansi Flick’s side fought back valiantly. A magical final 30 minutes of the first half saw Barça enter halftime leading 4-2.

Although Real Madrid reduced the deficit in the second half with a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé—securing his Pichichi and eventual Golden Boot—it wasn’t enough. Barça held on for a 4-3 victory in a spectacular, open, and decisive encounter that all but sealed their league title.
